“Kendi” means “loved one” in Kimeru, the Kenyan tongue of our founder. It is more than a name – it is our promise. We create timeless pieces that do more than adorn; they tell a story. Each garment is a gentle embrace that wraps the next generation in vibrant, meaningful patterns that bring to life the profound spirit of African traditions.
In Meru, we believe the most precious gift you can give your community is a sense of belonging – may this story help your child find their way home.
KendiKids is the realisation of a dream long held in the heart of our founder, Kendi. A successful entrepreneur since 2019, she yearned to build a legacy that did more than succeed in business, but one that celebrated her heritage.
The initial spark of an idea, to dress the world’s children in the brilliant colours and storytelling patterns of Africa – has grown into what Kendikids is today: a dedicated community committed to wrapping your little “loved ones” in excellence and meaning.
Celebrate African Heritage
Our designs are our love letter to Africa. We lovingly reimagined timeless stories, patterns, and symbols, transforming them into heirlooms for families.
Nurturing Our World
We believe in protecting the future our children inherit. That’s why we are committed to sustainability, using GOTS and OCS-certified organic materials to create clothing that is not only gentle to your baby’s skin, but to our planet as well.
The Circle of Love
As per our tradition in Meru, action is a language of love. We encourage you to be a part of this cycle by returning your outgrown pieces. We will refresh and repurpose them, ensuring the love and story within each garment continues to embrace another child.
